I think you should have an alumni outcamping trip! What wonderful memories. I have made my kids cook breakfast in a papersack before. It didn't turn out as well as I remember.
LOVE the picture of the girls crying over the chicken!!
The most memorable (and fun) outcamping trip had all the makings for a total disaster! It started raining in the middle fo the night thursday so everyone woke up wet and grumpy. The wood was wet and we had a hard time getting the fires going. It kept raining so I decided we needed to just make the best of it - we spent about two hours sliding in the mud down into the gully near the spring - we all looked like swamp monsters! After that, it didn't matter that the rain kept up till late that afternoon. It didn't matter that the chickens were already wet and stinky when it came time to kill them. It didn't matter that we were filthy and wet. All that mattered was that we had bonded as a group and created some wonderful memories! Bryan (aka Teddy Bear)
This blog is designed with the intent to bring Camp Deer Run Alumni into the loop about what is going on now at Camp. It will also be used to help Alumni get back in touch with each other and learn what life has been like for others since Camp.
I was a camper from 1992-1998, and a staff member from 1999-2003. I loved my time at Camp and am really excited to be able to serve Camp as the Official Camp Deer Run Blogger. If you have any questions for me or need to get a hold of me, you can email me at cdralumni@gmail.com .
